Dollars for Scholars!

Independence Area Dollars for Scholars is a locally operated and supported, nonprofit, tax-exempt scholarship foundation. Operated by a volunteer Board of Directors, the purpose of Dollars for Scholars is to expand access to higher education by involving and assisting the community to support local students. The Independence Area Dollars for Scholars chapter is an affiliate of Scholarship America, a nationally recognized nonprofit student aid service organization.

Our Vision
To encourage post-secondary education attendance for all Independence area students through strong Dollars for Scholars support.

Our Mission
Independence Area Dollars for Scholars advocates post-secondary education for every Independence area student by recognizing academic achievement and awarding scholarships.

2010 Awards Banquet a Great Success

This year's banquet was held at the Heartland Acres Agribition Center on May 12, 2010. Over 100 scholarships were awarded to graduates of the Independence Community School District.
